About Tim Morris
Tim Morris was born in Leesburg, Florida, and is a lifelong Lake County resident and a Leesburg High School alumnus (Class of 1976). He holds a Business degree from Lake-Sumter Community College (1979). As Vice President of Ernie Morris Enterprises, a regional leader in the Southeast, Tim has helped grow the family business since 1968.
He has served as a Trustee at Lake-Sumter State College for 18 years, an elder at Graceway Church, and Treasurer of The Florida College System Foundation. Tim is also a Lake Technical College board member and served as chair of Lifestream Behavioral Center for 24 years.
Tim’s recognitions include Florida Educational Foundation Business of the Year (2018), Florida College System Trustee of the Year (2017), and Lake-Sumter State College Trustee of the Year (2021). He is committed to his family, including his wife, Sharon, five children, and two grandchildren. He plays an active role in local organizations and government boards.
Timothy Morris, a fourth-generation native of Lake County, Florida, has demonstrated unwavering dedication to his community as a successful business owner and his extensive public service. As of 2024, Morris was elected as a Lake County Commissioner where he continues to serve on many non-profit boards and liaison to several public sector committees.
Tim Morris is actively serving as the appointed liaison to a diverse array of public sector bodies, including NPO, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, Career Source, the ECFL Regional Planning Council, the Library Advisory Board, and the Lake County Educational Concurrency Review Committee.
Tim Morris has distinguished himself by serving on a range of nonprofit boards, contributing 24 years on the Lifestream Board, serving as a Lake 100 Board Member, supporting Lake Tech and Sheriff’s Charities and Educational Foundation, and acting as a founding investor in Lake Economic Area Development, and the Coastal Conservation Association.
Tim has served in an appointed board position for Lake Sumter State College for several years and served on the Planning & Zoning Committee by appointment for over 18 years.
